Catch-up Comedy is an online space dedicated to helping comedians write, test, and workshop jokes collaboratively. 

Whether you’re a stand-up, a writer, or just comedy-curious, the goal is simple: write setups, get punchlines, and turn a strong premise into an even stronger joke.

What can you do on Catchup Comedy?

1. This is an online writers room. Workshop jokes, tags, and bits with other comedy fans from the internet to help create new jokes! 

2. Build your comedy portfolio. Your user page is also your portfolio, show off what you’ve written and where you perform 

3. It’s a hub to get inspired. We’ll have interviews with club bookers and comedians from all over. From major clubs and major headliners to minor clubs and featured performers. 

4. Promote your own shows here. We’re building a directory for comics to post their own produced shows. They can find talent if they need comedians from any given state or region. Make a page for your monthly, weekly, or bi-weekly show, whatever it is from Stand-up shows to Improv troupes to Sketch performers.

Writing comedy alone can be isolating

Waiting for stage time, writing alone, and sharing material with a couple close friends doesn’t lend comedy to be a social activity.

Catch-Up Comedy is built to open that up. Get feedback from other aspiring or professional comedians. See what works and what doesn’t among your peers. Find new angles to write jokes in.

How does this site work?

Post a setup on the home or specific joke category page. Receive punchlines and tags from other users once your joke is posted. Decide which direction you’d like to take your joke in. Claim your joke, and once claimed, it is moved to “Claimed Jokes” in your profile, building your portfolio.

This website was built BY a comedian FOR comedians who want a better way to test, write, and develop ideas outside of the stage.
